Frequently Asked Questions
How long ARE the downtown tourS and WHEN DO THEY BEGIN?
The Downtown Tours are about 1 mile long and last 1½-2 hours. Scheduled tours begin at 1:30 at the “Coming About” sculpture and fountain at the intersection of Main Street and Tiburon Boulevard.
WHEN ARE THE TOURS OFFERED, AND WHAT IS THE COST?
The regularly scheduled tours are offered Wednesday through Sunday at 1:30 from April through October. To request tours on other days and times, please call 415 849-0345.
From November through March, tours will be offered on request, and will be conducted only if weather permits. Call 415 849-0345 to arrange for a tour during these months.
Use the “Reserve Now” button below to go to the reservation site at The Ranch (Belvedere-Tiburon Joint Recreation). There you will see the current schedule for upcoming tours. The cost for each adult is $30, and $15 for children 6-12. The cost for residents of Tiburon and Belvedere is $15.
CAN PRIVATE GROUP TOURS BE ARRANGED AT OTHER TIMES?
Yes! Groups (including at least four adults) can arrange for private tours by contacting Elliott Brown at 415 849-0345 or by emailing to email@example.com. For special non-scheduled tours, there is no discounted price for groups fewer than eight. Special pricing is available, however, for groups of eight or more.
School groups, youth organizations, and non-profit groups are eligible for reduced pricing as well.
Please note that part of Tour #2, the Depot and Ferry Museum, is only open from 1 to 4 PM Wednesday through Sunday. Private tours conducted at other times may not include access to the museum unless we are able to make special arrangements with the Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society.
FOR WHOM ARE THE TOURS APPROPRIATE?
Each tour is less than 1 mile of easy walking on mostly flat, paved pathways and sidewalks. There is one portion of each tour that involves an incline. While wheelchairs have been observed on these portions, it will be the responsibility of the individual tour participant to determine whether to participate in this segment of the tour.
Children over the age of 8 should have little difficulty understanding the tours and keeping up with them. This may not be true for younger children. Parents should use their discretion.
WHAT IF A TOUR IS CANCELED?
If a tour is canceled due to inclement weather (which is very rare between May and October) or any other reason, you will be notified immediately and will receive a full refund or the option to reserve space for a future tour.
